Data Mining Engineer – Discover Insights From Big Data
The Data Mining Engineer plays a critical role in unlocking value from raw data. You will design and implement scalable pipelines that extract, process, and transform large datasets into structured formats that power analytics, AI models, and strategic decision-making across digital media and consulting projects.
Your primary responsibility is to build systems that dig deep into diverse data sources — including APIs, databases, cloud storage, and real-time streams — to uncover patterns, trends, and insights. These systems must be efficient, reliable, and optimized for performance at scale.
You’ll work closely with data scientists, engineers, and product teams to ensure the right data is available at the right time. By preparing clean, structured datasets, you’ll enable accurate model training, powerful targeting strategies, and high-impact business intelligence reporting.
In this role, you’ll also evaluate opportunities to automate data ingestion, transformation, and integration. You’ll develop scripts, workflows, and reusable components that reduce manual work and increase the speed of experimentation and delivery.
Your toolset may include Python, SQL, Spark, Airflow, and cloud services such as AWS, GCP, or Azure. Familiarity with ETL frameworks, data lakes, and data warehousing best practices will be essential to building a scalable foundation.
You’ll also contribute to data governance by ensuring consistency, accuracy, and documentation. Your attention to data integrity will directly impact the quality and reliability of downstream analytics and AI products.
Clear communication is essential. You’ll need to document workflows, collaborate across teams, and explain complex processes in ways that are accessible to both technical and non-technical audiences.

Responsibilities:

Develop and maintain data extraction and transformation pipelines.

Work with structured and unstructured data from multiple sources.

Collaborate with data scientists to understand dataset requirements.

Optimize data processing workflows for speed and efficiency.

Ensure data quality and consistency throughout pipelines.

Automate repetitive data mining tasks.

Monitor and troubleshoot data pipeline issues.

Evaluate and integrate new data sources.

Preferred Qualifications:

3+ years experience in data engineering, data mining, or ETL development.

Strong skills in Python, SQL, and data pipeline frameworks (Airflow, Luigi).

Experience with big data tools (Hadoop, Spark) a plus.

Knowledge of database systems (SQL and NoSQL).

Understanding of machine learning data requirements.
